Elections across the United States are currently in full swing as Democrats and Republicans battle for control of Congress.

The Senate is currently split, with 50 Republicans and 50 Democrats, although vice-president Kamala Harris can break tie votes, giving Democrats an effective majority.

A total of 35 Senate seats are up for election this year, including a special election in Oklahoma. Of those 35 seats, 12 are currently held by Democrats, and 23 are held by Republicans.

Ultimately, control of the Senate is coming down to a handful of swing states in 2022. They include Ohio, Arizona, Nevada, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Pennsylvania.

Polls close between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. across the nation.
