'Ghost of Kyiv': Lone fighter pilot credited with shooting down six Russian jets

One Ukrainian fighter pilot dubbed the “Ghost of Kyiv” has emerged as an unconfirmed heroic figure as Ukraine pushes back against invading Russian troops.

Video footage shows what appears to be a Ukrainian MiG-29 jet flying around several cities in Ukraine. The pilot could earn the title of “fighter ace” for shooting down five or more enemy aircraft if the reports are true.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov reported Thursday that Russians are incurring serious damages due to the invasion, including the loss of at least five planes, two helicopters, and five tanks, along with at least 800 casualties. Reznikov urged Ukrainians to take up arms and join the fight.
