The Supreme Court granted a request by President Donald Trump’s administration to fully enforce a rule that would deny asylum to anyone trying to enter the United States after traveling through another country without seeking asylum there.

The Supreme Court’s order allows the policy to take effect across the entire U.S.-Mexico border, while nationwide litigation against the rule continues, the court said on Sept. 11.

Liberal Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg dissented.
